Friday 30/1/09: Puzzling it out

The highlight of my day was sleeping in, I rarely get to sleep in because of swimming, golf, home improvement etc.

I think the heat shortcircuited my brain, I spent the majority of my day upstairs in the hottest room of the house working on my jigsaw puzzle. I alternated between wiping sweat, to make sure it didn't damage my puzzle and piecing it together. I guess I'm kind of proud of my stubborness, that even in extreme heat I'll battle through it, though technically it wasn't like I was doing anything strenuous. Often I wonder why I bother doing these types of things when I could just as easily move the puzzle downstairs (would've taken quite a long time though, but would've been more comfortable in the long run). Guess sometimes I like to do things the hard way.

Apart from that, I just basically did some kung fu training, went running then went for a swim. I tried to do the horse stand thing you see Shaolin monks do, managed to hold it for about 3 minutes before my willpower broke down. Swimming was blegh because there were so many people.

I did waste a lot of time on facebook today....stalking myself =.=" geez I'm narcisstic sometimes. Anyways, short entry (yay)

Peace out!
BTW, The puzzle's not finished yet, it's 1000 pieces and I was doing it without the boxart just because....I'm retarded like that and wanted to do it the hard way - guess it feels more satisfying when I finish.

Thursday 29/1/09: Lazeee

Today was a real scorcher, a full 43 degree scorcher. Me, being the crazy person, tried to nut it out upstairs to see how long I could endure for. It only took me about 10 minutes before I was sweating out of every pore in my body, in the end I maxed out at 2 hours before I decided I was being inhumane to myself, went downstairs and enjoyed the comforts of air conditioning. Overall, I'm quite happy with myself today, though I've started to get back into procrastination in the form of reading manga.

I think the highlight of my day easily has to be me motivating myself to stay fit, I went for a swim, managed to swim 1k in about 21 minutes. I've pushed myself these last two days and it feels really good. Then, I came home and did some work on the home reno project before going outside and doing kung fu for about 2 hrs. I'm very motivated to train kung fu because I found a reason to work hard, I didn't enjoy being pushed around so easily by everyone, one push and I was flying whichever way! This week my aim is to find my 'chi' and build a much stronger base so that I don't get pushed around as easily. Finding 'chi' is so hard, I was barely moving but I could feel my whole body heating up and with intense concentration, I was able to direct the heat to certain parts of my arms, I don't think I've concentrated that hard in such a long time, I didn't even notice the heat or the hot winds. Dad took it upon himself to take pictures of me making pools of sweat.

I did very little for the rest of the day, was quite happy mum was out during lunch so that I actually got to choose what I eat and how much I eat, whenever mum's around, I don't get a say (well, I do, but it's stupid to argue) on how much I eat.

I watched a documentary on what the cars of the future will be like, it focused on the 'brain' or processing ability of the cars and according to Moore's laws, the processing power of microchips double every 2 years, at the moment it's doubling every 18 months. In other words, between WW2 and now, the microchip has become so commonplace that the processing power of the chips in the birthday cards that sing can outperform the whole processing power of the allied forces in WW2, and what do we do with the singing birthday cards? We throw them out. So, by 2030, these people predict that chips will be 1c and have a lot more processing ability than the most advanced chips available now. Scary stuff....but I think having computers drive our cars is much safer than having humans drive. Guess only time will tell

I think that's about it for today, I know I haven't fleshed out yesterday or Tuesday's entries, but....I'll get round to it eventually.

Catch ya~
